CONGRATULATIONS TO CASCADE PATROLLERS

Cascade Patrollers Successfully Advance in Senior and Certified Evaluations

Gretchen Girard, Patrol Director and Dick Wolkowski, Patrol Representative

Congratulations to our hard working patrollers who put in the extra effort to earn their Senior or Certified Alpine Patroller status within the National Ski Patrol system this season.

The Central Division website states that “becoming a Senior Patroller in the National Ski Patrol program is a significant milestone for individuals who are passionate about skiing, snowboarding, and providing essential safety and first aid services in mountain environment.”

Each individual had to demonstrate advanced medical skills; technical skiing/riding ability; and leadership, mentoring, and decision-making qualities.  Our patrol welcomes six new Senior Patrollers:

Grace Wall                    Chris Schelm

Mike Tuski                    Tim Heckman

Ryan Sharpee                James Shoemaker

We also recognize Dave Sisco for attaining his Certified Alpine status.  He had to demonstrate skills across nine different areas that not only include medical, skiing, and toboggan handling skills, but also he had to show significant knowledge of ski area management, avalanche, and rope rescue methods.  Again, from the Central division website: Certified is a national skills development and verification program that provides a readily identifiable resource of highly motivated, skilled, and knowledgeable patrollers to better serve NSP, ski area management and the outdoor recreation community.”

The Cascade Mountain Ski Patrol is proud of your accomplishments!
