Positions Open

We are looking for patrollers that might be interested in filling some positions for this season and next.

Jan Westemeier wants to retire from patrolling after 30 years, at the end of this season, and will be giving up her treasurer repsonsibilities.  Jan has been and continutes to be a great asset to our patrol, and has done a great job in her treasurer responsibilities.  They will be tough shoes to fill.  If you are interested in taking on those responsibilities for the patrol, please let me know.  If you have questions about what is involved, please talk to Jan.

Jeremy McPherson has put in huge amounts of time the last two summers in his role as IOR for the candidate class.  Jeremey plans on turning that role over to someone else.  This year will be the first year that we do the OEC for candidates on our own.  The location is not set yet, but we are hoping to get the Poynette Fire Station, and are talking about holding the class on Sunday nights, versus Wednesday nights.  We are also discussing some big changes to the time frame, and considering starting this class in April, then taking a break for the summer.  If you are an OEC instructor, and are interested in taking on the IOR responsibiliites for our upcoming candidate class, please let me know.  If you would like more information on what is involved, please talk to Jeremy.

We would also like to have someone act as a secretary for our patrol.  This is a position that I do not think we have ever had before.  This position would attend all the board meetings, take minutes, and post them for the entire patrol to see, along with handling other correspondance, documentation and tasks.  If you are interested in this position, or want more information on what is involved, please let me know.

With the best information available right now–projected opening date is Dec 9th or 10th.  The hope from management is that by Dec 10th they could move into full time hours and be open for the season.  But, as always, mother nature is in charge, more to come!
